What We Do

The vision of Bridge the Gap, Inc. is to be a liaison between the Bridgeton disenfranchised and community resources, providing opportunity for the Holy Spirit to empower everyone; those who give and those who receive, to be all the God ever intended us to be. We are dedicated to improving the lives and long term self-sufficiency of low income, at-risk families in Bridgeton, New Jersey and the surrounding area by offering a hand-up rather than a hand-out through our Thrift Store, Learning Center and Food Pantry. Our Core Values are: Quality - Providing the highest possible goods and services possible; Partnership - Building relationships with customers, the community, volunteers and city officials; Empowerment - Enabling volunteers, customers and staff to be part of the decision-making process; Integrity - Conducting ourselves in an honest, fair and ethical manner knowing we represent Christ; Stewardship - Operating efficiently to meet fiscal, social and spiritual needs; and Compassion - Displaying caring, sensitivity and respect toward everyone we encounter.

The "Learning Center" offers a wide range of life learning skills, free of charge. Courses that are being offered are listed below with similar courses offered every three months. Visit "The Bridge" thrift store for any questions or to sign up.

Alcohol Anonymous - Homes of Honor - Beginner Computer - Remedial Reading - English as a Second Language (Ingles como Segunda Lenguaje) -

Resolving Conflicts - Women's Bible Study (Estudio Biblico para Senoritas and Senoras) - Conversational Spanish - Intermediate Computer

The most recent expansion of community service is the establishment of our FOOD PANTRY. If you are in need of food and are unable to pay, come and let us help you with your need. Food will be distributed through the Learning Center.
